A Secondary Language for Primary Education
As our world has become more of a global economy, there are many things to learn outside of the local culture. One of the more important skill sets in understanding other cultures and communities is by learning their language.
Learning a secondary language can be easier for a child and can help with future communication skills. An opinion-editorial in the University of Iowa’s independent newspaper The Daily Iowan suggests that “Learning languages early in childhood is vital to the growth of our students. School districts should start as early as elementary school to implement programs in order to provide students with the tools they need to excel in a global economy.”
