Read For The Record: October 6, 2011
A World Record 2,184,155 Participants!

FasTracKids participated in its 5th annual Read for the Record event, an international campaign to bring preschool children and valued grownups together by reading the same book on the same day. The goals for this event are setting a new world record for participation while bringing awareness to the crisis in early literacy. In 2010, over two million readers experienced Ezra Jack Keats' story of The Snowy Day.
On October 6, 2011, FasTracKids helped Jumpstart reach a new record by reading Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney in 17 different countries. This year, over 126,000 more children heard the story of Baby Llama and his llama drama. That makes a total of 2,184,155 participants and we hope to show even more children the power of literature and imagination in 2012!
Here are pictures, videos and articles from centers and schools all over the world Reading for the Record!
